2ND ANNIVERSARY NEWSLETTER

 Every year that passes since that original SoundCloud page makes me feel even older than I am, which is nearly impossible. I don't think 2 years is nearly as impressive as 9, but it's kinda scary how close those two numbers are in relativity.

This year's Anniversary Post™ won't be super loaded, because we're too busy to share anything that's gonna make your jaw drop like a cartoon dog. But we have a few little tidbits and some new information to share.


Our focus recently has been more on CHAPTER 4 than CHAPTER 3, just to avoid burnout. We've been writing, spriting and all that other stuff. Some more progress on CHAPTER 5 has been done, as well, though it's not really as plentiful. This is the only screenshot I want to share.
It doesn't really mean anything, it's just cool and atmospheric.

CHARACTER QnA


It's been a while since the last one of these. Maybe because I didn't have anything new to say.

But then I realized that's not really the point of these, is it? Writing is more fun if you just make stuff that is cute and funny.

CHARACTER INFORMATION CHALK LADY

Artwork by Techncolour, Chalk Lady Design by GargyShmub Nobody really knows anything about her, so I felt it'd be a reasonable thing to write some information. She's a relatively new addition to the cast, after all.

The Chalk Lady (known more formally as just "Lady") is an enigmatic, unusual woman. Unlike Queen who is calculated, intelligent and matter-of-fact, Chalk Lady is like her polar opposite. She's unstable, rude, and honestly a little bit stupid.

Lacking eyes on her face, her only form of sight is through her unusual eye-shaped earrings. This is more of a curse, as she is still about as blind as a bat. What she lacks in sight, she makes up for in her incredible hearing. Though, it has drawbacks of its' own.

She can hear things from miles away and is always able to hear everything around her, due to this she's extremely easy to fool using frankly elementary tricks. Despite those weaknesses, don't take her for a pushover.

She has some of the strongest attacks of all the main leaders, able to encase a darkner in Chalkstone to become temporary thrones and statuettes until freed.

The CHAPTER 3 darkners scattered need to be rescued, or risk themselves becoming nothing more than decor in a chalky wasteland.

UNUSED CONTENT
INFORMATION STATION & NEWTON

Scrapped Information Station Concept art by Marnie One of the original areas and characters created for UZ Inu + VCDR, they're not really a part of the game any more. They no longer have nearly as much purpose, and seemed only to bloat the development of the game.

We ended up trying to redesign Newton and modifying his role in the story, but eventually collectively decided it wasn't worth the hassle. Most of the important stuff for them were moved to existing things.

CONCLUSION

That's all that's really worth sharing right now, we're super busy and hopefully we can share something more concrete in the coming months. That said, I hope what we shared here was enough to satiate your appetite.
